The II All-Russian piano festival-competition

for students  of different specialities  of secondary educational musical institutions and higher educational musical institutions.

The piano department of the Petrozavodsk State Glazunov Conservatory invites students  of different specialities  of secondary educational musical institutions and higher educational musical institutions to take part in the II All-Russian piano festival-competition that will be held from February 28 through March 5, 2015.

The goal of the piano festival-competition is the development and the perfection of the piano course, the activation of the artistic process in secondary and higher educational musical institutions, the improvement of the performance level of the students.

The festival-competition will be held for two categories:

- students of secondary educational musical institutions;

- students of higher educational musical institutions.

Students of different specialities of secondary educational musical institutions and higher educational musical institutions of culture and art (except for students of the special piano department) who have passed the preselection in their educational institutions are invited to take part in the festival-competition.

Programme requirements:

I. secondary educational musical institutions:

- 2 music pieces, one of which is written by a Scandinavian, Finnish or Karelian composer. The duration of the performance must be less than 10 minutes.

II. higher educational musical institutions:

1. “Musicology”, “Composition”, “Academic Choir Conducting”

1) a part of a classic sonata (any sonata on the choice of the participant)

2) a music piece (on the choice of the participant)

3) a music piece for piano composed by a Scandinavian, Finnish or Karelian composer.

The duration of the performance must be lass than15 minutes.

2. Other specialities: “Orchestral String Instruments”, “Orchestral Wind, Brass and Percussion Instruments”, “Folk Instruments”, “Academic singing”

1) a music piece (on the choice of the participant)

2) a music piece for piano composed by a Scandinavian, Finnish or Karelian composer.

The duration of the performance must be less than 10 minutes.

The order of performance is determined by a random drawing. 1st, 2nd and 3rd place Prize winners in each speciality are awarded the title "Laureate", diplomas and prizes. The teachers who trained the participants are awarded diplomas for pedagogical excellence.

The participants who successfully took part in the festival-competition and who didn’t receive the laureate title, receive Certificates of Merit. The teachers who trained these participants also receive Certificates of Merit.

Registration fee is 1000 Russian rubles and is paid upon arrival during registration for the contest. Travel expenses, meal / accomodation are sole responsibility of the participants.

The application form (including the programme of the performance and the number of the arriving guests) must be received by the organizing committee no later than February 1, 2015. The application form can be sent by e-mail (to info@glazunovcons.ru) or by fax and must include photographs of the participants (the size of the photograph not less than 300-400 Kb, in .jpg, .tiff, .pdf form) with the surname of the participant.
