Petrozavodsk State Glazunov Conservatoire in collaboration with the National Theatre of the Republic of Karelia is pleased to announce admission to Drama course for 2018.
The duration of the program is four years and the graduates are granted with Specialist’s Degree Diploma in a state-approved format (the specialist’s degree is equivalent to the bachelor’s degree in Europe).
The Course is initiated by Sergei Pronin, the Head of the Vocal and Drama Department of the Petrozavodsk Conservatoire and the Artistic Director of the National Theatre of the Republic of Karelia.
Drama has been taught at the Petrozavodsk Conservatoire for the last twenty years and education is based on a Russian methodology for actors and directors which emanated out of the last experiments of Stanislavsky, Vachtangov and Mikhail Chekhov.
The languages of instruction are Russian and Finnish, the practical training during the course and final certifying exams are held on the stage of the National Theatre of the Republic of Karelia where most of the plays have always been performed in Finnish.
The 2018 admission to Drama course is mostly offered to prospective students from Finland and the preliminary number of seats is 10. The candidates who are interested to apply for the courses must submit the application form. The deadline for applications is May 1, 2018 due to visa processing requirements. Entrance examinations include audition in Finnish and Test of Russian as Foreign Language to be held in July 2018.
