The International Scientific Internet Conference

The Petrozavodsk State Glazunov Conservatory invites you to attend the International Scientific Internet Conference on the occasion of the 150th anniversary of Alexander Glazunov, Jean Sibelius, and Carl Nilsen.

The conference is organized by the History of Music Department of the Petrozavodsk State Glazunov Conservatory.

Thematic Sections

  1. Life and Work of Glazunov, Sibelius, and Nilsen (revelations, empiriocriticism, interpretations)
  2. Aesthetics, poetics, and compositional techniques of music by Glazunov, Sibelius, and Nilsen
  3. Transformations of artistic and political context in Russia, Finland, and Denmark; stages of composers' evolution
  4. Resonance and receptions of the musical heritage of Glazunov, Sibelius, and Nilsen

We invite teachers, researchers, graduate and post-graduate students.

Proposals (see form below) should be sent between December 8, 2014 (Sibelius's Birthday) – March 21, 2015 (Glazunov's memorial day). Papers will be posted on the Petrozavodsk Conservatory official website throughout calendar 2015. 

Papers are limited to 20 000 symbols.

Text Format Requirements:
a) File format – .doc, .docx, Times New Roman, 14, line pitch 1,5
b) Page – A4, full justification, margins: left – 3 cm, right – 1,5 cm, upper and lower – 2 cm
c) paginal footnotes
e) alphabetical bibliography at the end of paper
f) no page numbers
g) examples, illustrations, etc. should be attached separately (jpg, sib, tif, etc.)
