On March 5 and 6, 2019, open master classes by professors Jorge Alves and Telmo Marques from the Escola Superior de Música, Artes e Espetáculo (Porto, Portugal) will take place at the Petrozavodsk State Glasunov Conservatoire.
The master classes by professors Jorge Alves (viola) and Telmo Marques (composition) are supported by the international academic mobility program ERASMUS +.
Jorge Alves, Viola Professor and Head of Chamber music at the Escola Superior de Música, Artes e Espetáculo, is also the president of the Portuguese Viola Association. He has visited the Petrozavodsk Conservatoire several times over the past two years, conducted master classes for students of the Strings Department and participated in the concerts of the chamber orchestra “Saturnalia”, organized by the senior teacher of the Strings Department Praskovya Tanikova.
An open master class by Professor Jorge Alves will be held on March 5, 2019, at 3 p.m. (class #311).
Professor Telmo Marques, composer and Head of the music department at the Porto High School of Music and Performing Arts, will be visiting the Petrozavodsk Conservatoire for the first time.
On March 5 and 6, 2019, at 3 p.m. at the Opera Studio of the Conservatoire, Professor Telmo Marques will tell about his compositional and research experience at combining classical, jazz and folk music, he will also talk about his research work “Geometric Serialism” and musical compositions based on traditional Portuguese music.
