The Folk Music and Traditional Crafts Festival "Origins". October 19-21, 2012

The Ethnic Music and Traditional Crafts Festival "Origins" is aimed at preserving and further development of folk tradition; encouraging the participation of children and youth in folk concerts and festivals; fostering better communication among folk music performers and educators from different countries.

Petrozavodsk State Glazunov Conservatory, the Department of Finno-Ugric Music invites young folk musicians, singers & dancers and folk bands as well as master craftsmen who produce traditional music instruments to take part in the the Folk Music and Traditional Crafts Festival "Origins". The festival is open to students from 10 years old and above who study local ethnic music, choreography and rituals and follow the tradition in their performances.
