The Concert Choir is under the direction of prof. Evgeny Guriev, Artistic Director, Honored Art Worker of Russia. The choir's current chief conductor is Evgeniya Diga. The choir also works on projects with guest conductors in order to develop both performance and vocal skills. The choir performs music from the canon of choral repertoire and past works have included Bach's Messe h moll (conductor Saulius Sondeckis, Lithuania), Mendelssohn's Hymn of Praise (conductor Marco Boido, Italy).
The choir made its first public appearance in 1969 at the stage of Karelian State Philarmonic where Shubert's Messe in G dur was performed under conductor, professor of Saint Petersburg Conservatory Avenir Mikhailov. Throughout its over forty year history, several distinguished conductors have lead the Concert Choir, including professors Elvira Sedova, Stanislav Legkov, U Gen-Ir. The repertoire included Rachmaninoff's All-Night Vigil, Stravinsky's Symphony of Psalms, The Requiem by John Rutter, Beethoven's Symphony No. 9 in D minor, Mozart's Requiem in D minor etc.
