The 17th Albin Repnikov International Folk Instruments Performers Competition 
 

On April 8 - 15, 2015 in Petrozavodsk, Republic of Karelia at the Petrozavodsk State Glazunov Conservatoire

The Competition is arranged by the Petrozavodsk State Glazunov Conservatoire in association with Children’s Musical School named after Gelmer Sinisalo

The objectives of the Competition are 
1. to preserve and develop the art of performing on folk music instruments 
2. to discover and support highly gifted young performers on folk instruments of all nationalities 
3. to promote and diffuse interest in folk instruments performance among young musicians and local community

Participants 

The competition is open to young musicians - students of musical schools, colleges, conservatories as well as professional performers of all nationalities within three age groups:
Junior Group – up to 15 years old 
Middle Group – up to 20 years old 
Senior Group - from 21 years old

Rules & Repertoire

The venues for public auditions are concert halls of the Petrozavodsk State Glazunov Conservatoire and the Children’s Musical School named after Gelmer Sinisalo. Each participant is provided with practice facilities and has opportunity to rehearse in the venue. The order of performance is determined by a random drawing and is valid until the end of the competition. Repertoire is selected according to the content of the competition and performed by heart. The performances are evaluated by the Jury. 1st, 2nd and 3rd place Prize winners in each age are awarded the title "Laureate". 4th, 5th and 6th place prize winners are awarded the title "Diploma winner". Those participants who enter Round Two of the competition but do not become winners receive Certificates of Merit. Participants who did not enter Round Two of the competition receive Letters of Appreciation.

The prize winners are engaged to perform at the final concert.

All performances are judged according to the rating scale of 25.

The jury may:

- award not all of the prizes

- divide the awards among contestants

- award diplomas for the best performance

- award a special prize for the best performance of Albin Repnikov’s work.

Public institutions or private sponsors may establish other special prizes. 

The decisions of the Jury are final and not subject to appeal. 

After the competition the conference on issues of quality performance on folk instruments and the final prize-giving concert are held. 

The Jury has the right to make audio and video records of the performances, and for the free use of the recorded material without participants' permission.

Application Procedure
The application package must be received by the organizing committee no later than February 20, 2015. The application form can be sent by e-mail (to info@glazunovcons.ru) or by mail (to 185031 Leningradskaya st., 16, Petrozavodsk, Karelia, Russia). 

Registration in the competition is based on: 
Application form in block letters
• A copy of the applicant’s passport or birth certificate (original document to be presented upon arrival) 
• A brief artistic CV including the name of the teacher or the accompanist
• A color photo in JPG format 400 Kb min. indicating applicant's full name
• A copy of the registration fee payment receipt

Junior Group – 1500 rubles 
Middle Group – 2500 rubles 
Senior Group – 3500 rubles
Registration fee is non-refundable and must be payed to Petrozavodsk State Glazunov Conservatoire by a non-cash payment or upon arrival during registration for the contest.
Bank details are to be checked with the Administrator.
Travel expenses are sole responsibility of the participants. The organizing committee may assist with the accommodation of participants, teachers and accompanists in case of advance booking.
